Children’s health

This area of the web site is designed to assist you in knowing what to do when your child is ill in relation to the nursery terms and conditions. Clearly, in most cases, your child needs to remain at home unless it is a simple cough or cold i.e. without fever, or non infectious rash etc. However, you will still need to know how much time after symptoms have emerged as to when your child can return and this is laid out in simple form for you in the exclusion table. Also of use here is the list of symptoms for many common childhood diseases. However, while these allow you to begin to know the cause of your child’s illness, clearly you will need to have the prognosis made by a doctor.

Additionally, we have put together some articles you may find useful on general health issues. These cover common ailments, and every day behavioural issues too. Some of these are adapted from Active Learning material. However, in most cases, they are simply uploaded from recent reports etc. In some cases they may be controversial, particularly for subjects such as vaccination etc. However, we will endeavour to provide reports which put forward all sides of an argument simply so that parents can make informed choices on decisions they may make for their children.
