At Active Learning, we like to think each school is autonomous and therefore we look for innovative staff who are capable of not only running an efficient and effective school but also who can help develop its own local personality. This of course requires a dynamic individual to run the school and manage the staff on a daily basis and therefore we recruit an experienced ‘Principle’ to do this. Each Principle is assisted by a supernumerary Vice Principle.

The nursery is split into main age groups:

• the baby nursery ‘under 1s’
• the language lounge ‘ 1s to 2s’
• the studios ‘over 2s’

Each of these age groups has a ‘Senior Mentor’ who oversees the quality of care and helps in developing the overall curriculum within these groups. The Senior Mentor will also be responsible for a team of staff.

The studios are all headed by qualified teachers or specialists in these fields, and therefore we look for proven experience in teaching and development of programmes for Art, Music and Performing Arts, Science and It and also Sport.

The rest of the nursery is staffed by qualified nursery teachers often with additional specialist areas of interest with which they can add value to the curriculum of Active Learning.
